School leaders are well-educated and trained to raise-up the future generations of students who will hopefully change the world for the better. However, safety & security usually isn’t an area of focus or concentration throughout their professional development tracks. As attacks against innocent students and staff continue to make waves across our Nation, school leaders need experienced safety & security professionals to step in and assist.
EduSafe’s mission is to equip school districts and it’s leaders with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage and mitigate their school’s safety & security ecosystems and return school cultures back to what it should be: enlightening, self-discovering, fun, and safe.

Advising & Training Solutions
Site Security Assessments (SSA)
The foundation to any organization’s safety & security posture is having an overview of their total protective ecosystem, knowing their greatest vulnerabilities and their mastered strengths. SSA’s will provide your organization exactly what you need to assess where you are at, determine what you need to improve, and efficiently and effectively get you where you need to be. SSA’s provide all the essential information, from local threat levels and potential risks to the complete analysis on the state of your physical security capabilities, including advisements on how to improve the vulnerabilities.
Existing Products & Technologies Advising
Every school has safety & security products, technologies, and procedures currently in use. In today’s society schools have a mixed bag of safety and security measures, however and oftentimes, they are not being employed as effectively as they could be. Video surveillance cameras, visitor management systems and processes, access controls, and access control measures are some examples of common underutilized implementations that we commonly encounter. Get very specific advising on your specific products, technologies, and/or procedures and start maximizing your protective posture’s potential.
Prospective Products & Technologies Advising
Security companies know exactly how to present their products and make them seem as though it’s exactly what your district/schools need to mitigate risks and potential threats. In full transparency, there are a lot of amazing products and technologies that exist; unfortunately, integrating them into a complex, multi-layered school ecosystem is a different story. When school leaders are desperate and eager to protect their students, it doesn’t take much to captivate their interest. As advisors who have consulted for security companies selling to schools, EduSafe is all too familiar. Rely on EduSafe advisors to provide you with an honest, objective analysis of the security products you are interested in and how it would integrate into your overall protective ecosystem.
Passive Response To An Active Shooter (Passive Responders)
The worst thing someone can do during a critical situation, is to do nothing. Yet, this is oftentimes what happens as most are undertrained and underprepared for these statistically low possibilities. EduSafe will help prepare your passive responders (i.e., teachers and staff) become mentally, physically, and emotionally ready to respond to a critical incident. This training proves beneficial for in school or outside of school potential emergency situations.
Escalation/Deescalation Techniques
The ability to escalate and deescalate appropriately in a given situation, based on the variables provided, is an invaluable skillset to leverage. Ill-intentioned people are hurt by an incident, or just feel isolated and disconnected from others, which motivates them to cause the same pain and suffering to others. Reaching these people, deep within their souls by making them feel heard and relevant, can many times discourage them from carrying out their illicit plans. However, and to the contrary, many times individuals are so deeply motivated to make others feel their emotional pain, that nothing will stop them. How do you know which type of individual you are dealing with is? You don’t! But you can adjust your actions based on their actions and do your best to try and resolve the situation peacefully.
Passive Casualty Aid for Severe Trauma
In critical situations, help is not always nearby when you need it the most. Train your teachers and staff (passive personnel), perhaps even students, in the most fundamental life-saving aid techniques for severe trauma. Learning these techniques turns passive individuals into critical assets, not only while at school, but potentially anywhere and anytime. Learn proper tourniquet, wound packing, and pressure dressing use and techniques, among other basic First Aid protocols.
Use-of-Force Active Threat Simulation
There is a common phrase in the armed professions world, which is, “Train the way you fight.” In the education world, a similar comparison would be, “Study the way you test.” The point being that you should prepare for something as similarly to how you plan on performing the action of what you are preparing for. EduSafe utilizes ultra-short throw projectors with integrated hit detection cameras into our Use-of-Force training program, where we conduct virtual, ultra-realism scenarios that offer your armed active responders the opportunity to experience a high-stress, critical incident. *EduSafe’s shooting simulators are safe for everyone to use, incorporating training firearms that operate off green gas and fire an IR laser at a projection screen.*
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
SOP’s are the essential instructional handbook for daily processes and procedures to ensure unity, direction and accountability for all personnel with the intent of maintaining control and efficient operations. EduSafe advisors can evaluate your existing SOPs and offer recommendations and/or work with your team to create one. SOPs usually include the processes and procedures for all day-to-day functions, from school opening to school closing, and everything in-between.
Emergency Operations Plans (EOP)
EOPs or EAPs (Emergency Action Plans, just a variation of name) are absolutely essential manuals for school districts-and each individual school-to have in place in today’s society. EOPs are the emergency situations version of SOPs and establish response procedures for all potential critical incidents, from extreme weather hazards to active shooter situations. A well established and executed EOP can mean the difference between limited or mass-casualties in a critical incident. Let us evaluate your EOP and offer recommendations to enhance your overall thoroughness and preparedness.
Day-to-Day Operations
Day-to-day operations are the backbone of your district. Creating and maintaining a welcoming, encouraging, and excepting, yet driven, purposeful, and meaningful environment is the key to establishing the desired overall culture for your students, staff, and community. Prison-like culture is one of the most fearful outcomes of many school leaders when having discussions about improving school safety & security, and rightfully so. Achieving a safer and more secure school while maintaining the traditional school climate and culture is absolutely possible when done correctly. Let our advisors assist your district in implementing the best daily operational processes and procedures.
Advanced Response Tactics (Active Responders)
EduSafe advisors have real-world experience in room clearing tactics and techniques in a variety of environments, known to them as Close Quarters Battle (CQB). Individual room clearing (CQB) tactics are crucial for your districts active responders (SROs, certified armed school staff) to know and be proficient in; not only for their own safety, but also for the safety of the innocent by being equipped to efficiently and expeditiously disrupt any potential threats. *Depending on your relationship and MOI’s with local law enforcement, the training provided may only be offered as recommendations and improvements to their use with their existing SOPs.*
Stress Inoculation Training
Stress inoculation training is the process of being thrown into the middle of a high-stress situation and reacting as appropriately and efficiently as possible, without overreacting or under-reacting. Stressors can induce split-second neurological and physiological changes in one’s body and not being equipped to handle those changes can lead to catastrophic outcomes. Repetitive instant-reaction drills can help develop more optimum biological response efficacy.
